Santacqua

DESIGNER: Giulio Iacchetti

MATERIAL: Red porphyry

Water means physical and spiritual well-being for man. Water is used to baptize and get blessed. In the churches the holy water fonts, traditionally in marble, offer the sacred water to the Christians. In the project the basins remain suspended, on their support. A small miracle takes place: a large monolith poised on a small column. The sense of uncertainty that emanates exalts the marble and makes it unexpectedly light and ethereal, thus inspiring values that transcend the physicality of the object, moving towards inner territories related to spirituality and inner well-being.
