City of Light is a game of stairs and volumes, which simulate the architectural environment of an imaginary Downtown.
The installation consists of 20 polished white marble blocks, supported by structures capable of transmitting light through the stone material.
In the beginning it was just a block of absolute white marble cut into thin slabs. The slabs have been further reduced cutting the angles thanks to 5-axis technology to make the material lighter and semi-polished and glued together with traditional gluing systems. The finished product (one column) is about 45 kg.
An incredible result for a creative and complex work. The complexity of the lithic virtuosities is the mission of the work of Tortuga Design. It shows once again that the technology supporting creativity must necessarily have the quality of precision, or it would not have been possible to assemble so many slabs.
